Looking for Beavers, Cubs or Scouts in Ipswich? 51st Ipswich Scouts gives young people aged 6 to 14 a place to belong, make friends and take part in adventure. Our sections meet weekly during school term time and offer outdoor activities, community projects, camps, games and chances for young people to take the lead.

We have three sections at 51st Ipswich Scouts, Beavers (age 6-8), Cubs (age 8-10.5) and Scouts (age 10.5-14) we also allow youth volunteering from age 14.

Our group has been a thriving and successful one since we opened in 2009 and now has over 50 youth members participating an weekly adventurous activities.

Some sections may have a waiting list. The main reason young people wait is that we need more adult volunteers. If you can help, even occasionally, you could help more children join Scouts sooner.

Our weekly programme is shaped by our young people so if there are particular activities you wish to try let us know and we will try to organise them. Recent activities include:

  • Community engagement with the local parish council, Remembrance day Parade event, and Felixstowe St George’s Day event.
  • Fundraisers including Orwell District fireworks display and Christmas Post delivery’s throughout Ipswich.
  • Adventurous activities such as Climbing, Shooting, Tomahawk throwing, Grass sledging, Hikes, Archery, Geocaching, Tobogganing, Cooking, Pioneering, Canoeing, Powerboating, and many more.
