Scout team member

You don’t need to be an expert in camping, knots or badges. We need people who can encourage young people, muck in, keep things organised, share a skill or simply be another trusted adult in the room.
FAQ
- Do I need experience to volunteer with Scouts? No we can provide you with all the training you will need.
- How much time do I need to give? Give as much or as little as you wish, we have some adults that give a few hours every couple of months, to some that are there every week, we are flexible to your other commitments.
- Can I volunteer if I work shifts? Absolutely, our Group lead volunteer is a shift worker and makes it work well.
- What checks and training are required? We do require an enhanced DBS check along with Safety and Safeguarding, Creating Inclusion, Data Protection, Who We Are And What We Do, Delivering a Great Programme and First Response modules.
- Can I help behind the scenes? Of course we would love you to help. we can get you in as Quatermaster, admin, Trustee, Treasurer, Manager, or any other role depending on your experience or skills. Any help takes pressure of other volunteers.
- Where do 51st Ipswich Scouts meet? Beavers and Scouts meet at Tower Hall in Rushmere St Andrew, Cubs meet at St Andrews Church on Britannia Road.
